Do You Have The Courage To Stand Up For You? (Part II)

Number two of the three qualities of high life people is Fantasy – (lifetime achievers). High life people have an active imagination. Their imaginations are a direct result of their continued learning process. They are always curious about the unknown and exposing themselves to learn more. Some learn more through reading. Others learn more through people, but more on that later. Still yet, others learn more through trial and error. They envision it, go about doing it, then they don’t give up. They refine it, correct the mistakes and do it again. So many people give up after the second or third failure. But the high life people don’t give up. They keep trying until it works. Warren Buffet says, “money should be a by-product of something you like to do very much. The average millionaire doesn’t find their dream job until age 45 and tends to be 54 before becoming a millionaire.” Now, think about all the different jobs, careers and failed businesses that occurred between the ages of 25 and 45 in this example, for the average millionaire. No one is an overnight success.

At the Act Like A Success Conference 2015, I heard millionaire Paul C. Brunson, a co-host of Oprah’s OWN Network Lovetown, USA. This guy graduated from college with honors. Lands a cushy Wall Street job, (yes, making six figures). Without having another job, he quits the Wall Street job to move in with his girl-friend’s parents. His girlfriend wasn’t even living with her parents (I still can’t believe she married him). He started his own business, which failed. He started another and another, they both failed. Five years passed and still no successful business. He did get a job. But Paul didn’t give up his ownership dreams. He turned an education idea rejected by three US businesses into a monster success. He turned a casual conversation between him and his wife into successful matchmaking firm. He never gave up! You shouldn’t give up! Stay tuned, the third characteristic of high life people, next week. To read Part I of Courage To Stand Up For Yourself, click here
