LIVING WATER For Your Soul

You nourish your body every day, what about your soul? Every day I meet people that don’t read their bible. They have one. They all know where it is but have excuse after excuse for why they don’t have time; don’t read it because they don’t understand it or (my personal fav) feel they don’t need to read it because they learn the Bible from their pastor’s sermons. Yes, Sunday sermons are derived from the good Book. However, sermons once a week can only give you a small snippet of understanding. We must read our Bible in order to make the Word, living water. You eat food for your body every day, why not consume the Word for your Soul every day?

For those that don’t attend church, reading the Bible becomes even more important. What do I mean by living water? Living water is a metaphor for sustenance. Reading your Bible, will make it living water, nourishment for daily living. Encouragement, self-esteem, motivation, inspiration, understanding, revelation – it’s all in there, but you don’t know, if you don’t read it.

God also uses the Bible to reveal guidance and direction to us for our daily lives. Have you ever been stuck between two decisions that both seemed good? Only to find out after you made a choice that you made the wrong choice. It left you in self pity saying, “if only I had known then, what I know now”. There are many testimonies, including mine, that serve as proof that when you make a move toward God, he will make two moves toward you. You commit to reading the Bible daily, and God will begin to highlight verses. He’ll break down parables so that you understand how the story’s lesson relates to your life. Your next step in life will become so crystal clear, you’ll wonder what took you so long to dive in and begin to enjoy the refreshing provision for the soul.

Do it! Commit to reading a chapter of the Bible a day, along with daily prayers and conversations with God regarding what’s on your heart (not what’s in your head) and watch Him do it!
